บริษัทอินเตอร์ ฟาร์อีสท์ วิศวการ จำกัด (มหาชน)  เริ่มก่อตั้งขึ้น เมื่อวันที่ 23 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2520 โดยในระยะแรกได้ดำเนินการจดทะเบียนก่อตั้งบริษัทฯ ภายใต้ชื่อ "บริษัท อินเตอร์ ฟาร์อีสท์ วิศวกิจ จำกัด" ด้วยทุนจดทะเบียน 0.5 ล้านบาท เป็นหุ้นสามัญจำนวน 5,000 หุ้น มูลค่าตราไว้หุ้นละ 100 บาท เรียกชำระครั้งแรก 50% และได้เริ่มดำเนินการเมื่อ วันที่ 1 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2521 โดยเป็นหน่วยงาน เพื่อให้บริการด้านเครื่องปรับอากาศแก่บริษัทในเครือสหพัฒนพิบูล ต่อมาในปี พ.ศ. 2523 บริษัทฯ ได้เปลี่ยนชื่อบริษัท เป็น "บริษัท อินเตอร์ ฟาร์อีสท์ วิศวการ จำกัด" และเพิ่มทุนจดทะเบียนเป็น 1 ล้านบาท หลังจากนั้น บริษัทฯ ได้มีการขยายและเติบโตขึ้นเป็นลำดับ
